Vicor Power Systems industrial applications
Architectural LED lighting
Key challenges
Develop a high-efficient AC-DC custom supply that could supply dual 24VDC 400W outputs
Create a power supply to run panels of LEDs
Solution
Designed an AC-DC converter that accepts a single-phase 90 – 264VAC input and has dual channel 24VDC outputs
Featured high-efficiency operation, which included both out-rush control and fused outputs
Factory automation
Key challenges
Develop a high-efficient custom power supply that runs off 3-Phase 208VAC
Develop a power supply that delivers 5,000W
Feature in-rush protection, power good, I2C control and diagnostics
Able to be fan cooled with speed control
Solution
Developed an AC-DC power supply that is >91% efficient
Ability to accept a 3-Phase 208VAC input and has a 380VDC output
Developed the power supply to be fan cooled
Manufacturing control
Key challenges
Develop a 3-Phase input power supply that will convert down to dual 48V outputs @ 1,500W each
Develop the power supply to be highly efficient using an I2 C interface
Feature on/off control and input/output, voltage/current measurements
Must include fault monitoring
Solution
Developed a solution that filtered and boosted the 3-Phase input, then fed it through high-voltage bus converters
The converter was able to take in 380VDC and deliver 48VDC @ 1,500W each with a peak efficiency >95%
All outputs were isolated
Included an I2 C interface for power monitoring and control
